5 Non-European Legends who have never played in the World Cup

Tony Yeboah (Ghana)- The Ghanaian striker was one of the greatest players produced by the lands of Africa. Neither he nor Ghana ever played in the World Cup during his career. 

Mohamed Aboutrika (Egypt)- The African Cup of Nations winner has also never played in the FIFA World Cup during his career. The midfielder played for the Egypt senior team for 12 seasons.

Kazuyoshi Miura (Japan)-The oldest professional footballer on the planet, Miiura started playing football in 1986 and is still playing in the Japanese professional league for Suzuka Point getters. Although, he never played for Japan’s senior team after 2000. 

George Weah (Liberia)- The current serving president of Liberia, George Weah is also a football legend with a prolific career. He played for various top-flight clubs but could not take his team to the FIFA World Cup.

Abedi Pele (Ghana)- The midfielder played over 470 professional matches in his lifetime. He had an astounding career and won the Champions League with Marseille in 1992 as well. He was also named African Player of the Year thrice in his career.
