6 key players missing from Spain's squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup

David De Gea- The Manchester United goalkeeper has been in phenomenal form this season. Although, Luis Enrique demanded a keeper who is good with the ball at his feet. De Gea’s ball distribution made him a contrasting piece for Enrique’s style of football.

Sergio Ramos- The Spain and Real Madrid legend was not picked for, what would have been his 5th FIFA World Cup. Luis Enrique decided to go for much younger defensive options like Eric Garcia and Aymeric Laporte instead of the veteran.

Thiago Alcantara- The Liverpool magician could also not make it to the Spanish squad heading to Qatar. He has been in good shape and form since his return from the last injury. Although, it wasn’t enough for the Spaniard to make his way into the squad.

Nacho Fernandez- The Real Madrid defender also failed to make his way into the Spanish squad after having a rock-solid season with Los Blancos. Last season, he won the UCL trophy and the La Liga title with the Spanish giants.

Marc Cucurella- The fresh Chelsea signing has been influential for the Blues in the Premier League. Although, with the presence of veteran players like Jordi Alba and Jose Gaya, Marc Cucurella had to wait a few more years before making his World Cup debut.

Adama Traore- Adama Traore moved back to Wolves after an explosive loan spell at FC Barcelona. He was also one of the biggest names who did.t make it to the Spanish squad.
