Football legend Pele once slapped Anderson Silva to remind him of his true identity

Back in 2013, MMA legend, Anderson Silva was on top of his game. The Spider was leading the UFC's pound-for-pound list, and every young fighter aspired to be as great as him. Even though Silva had all the fame in the world, he never got the chance to fulfill his dream of playing soccer for his country.

Silva comes from Brazil, and that was also the birthplace of one of the greatest footballers to ever walk on god's green earth, Pele. Much like every children in Brazil, Silva wanted to follow in the footsteps of his hero, and play for his country in the FIFA world cups.

Silva started training from a young age, and it became clear to him that he doesn't have what it takes to become a successful footballer. But after a while, Silva fell in love with MMA, and we all know how that went.

Even though he never got the chance to wear Brazil's jersey in the FIFA world cup, Silva landed himself an opportunity of a lifetime when he starred against his hero Pele in a sports commercial.

Vivo Sports, actually came up with an interesting "What-if" idea for athletes from different sports. For MMA they reached out to Silva. The premise of the ad showed how things would have gone for Silva had he been a famous footballer.
