After ending up as runners-up on 3 occasions, Royal Challengers would be looking to register their name of the silverware for the first time during the 13th edition

Royal Challenger Bangalore’s head coach Simon Katich values Aaron Finch as a great addition to the side. He believes Finch’s presence in the field will take some load of captain Virat Kohli’s shoulders.

Despite having the likes of AB De Villiers in the camp, RCB had a very disappointing campaign in the last edition of the IPL. However having the opportunity to start afresh, RCB went in the auction trying to clinch in several new players. One of them being Australian skipper Aaron Finch. He was bought for more than INR 4 Cr with the aim of bringing in the much-needed experience.

Simon Katich counts on Finch

Aaron Finch would not be a part of the RCB dugout in the first week of the tournament

Simon Katich feels that the price paid for Finch has no comparison with the leadership qualities he will shred into the team. He said,

“During the auction, we were looking for players who were at the top of their game. There were very few available, out of which Aaron Finch was high in our list.”

Finch has 1989 runs against his name in 61 T20Is played. He stands at 3rd position in the ICC rankings for T20I batsmen.

Katich also exclaimed how devastating Finch has been in shortest format. Also what he has achieved with Australia for the past so many years is incredible.

According to Katich, the franchisee’s strategy to rope experienced players in their camp will now make the task easier for Kohli, both on and off the pitch.
