‘AIFF working with FIFA for Women’s World Cup’, AIFF President Praful Patel

The President of AIFF, Praful Patel, on Friday has said that the LOC (Local organising Committee) of the U-17 women’s world cup is working with FIFA to finalise new dates for the tournament.

Patel wrote on Twitter, “I am happy to share that we are working with #FIFA to choose a new and earliest possible timeline to host the U-17 women’s world cup. The LOC and FIFA are working in close collaboration to finalise new dates keeping health and safety a priority.”

Due to the health-related risk of players, staff, host cities and fans FIFA postponed the U-17 Women’s World Cup during this pandemic.

FIFA World Cup U-17, which Is hosting, will start from February 17, 2021, while Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Kolkata and Bhubaneswar will host all matches. And also the decision in accordance with FIFA & the players stick on original age criteria so that all players get a chance to showcase their talent.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic it has been forced to postpone many tournaments. The Tokyo Olympic has also been pushed to next year.
