Ajay Jayaram has been battling injuries for three years now. Although, currently he is trying to make the best of the nationwide lockdown. Just when he had begun getting back into rhythm in the international circuit, tournaments got suspended in the wake of the pandemic.

Ajay Jayaram made his way to the Barcelona Spain Masters in February 2020 and had a decent performance at the Syed Modi International Challenge in Lucknow.

Those following Ajay on Social media would know how brilliant an artist he is. Having such ample time in hand, the shuttler had been honing his skills with his paintbrush, in order to brush away his worries. In the span of about two and a half months, he has completed 5 to 6 beautiful paintings. Needless to say, hobbies like these definitely could help keep up positivity and maintain mental health in tough times like these.

The Mumbaikar trains at the Anup Shridhar Badminton Academy in Bengaluru and has been there since the lockdown had been imposed. The Unlock Phase 1 has enabled the Karnataka Badminton Association to permit training for elite athletes from 1 June and he would be resuming training amidst all precautions for safety and social distancing. The lockdown could have been a blessing in disguise to rest well and recover from the injury stronger.
