Wicket-Keeper Batsman Alex Carey has expressed his desires about representing Australia in Test Cricket. Recently, former Australia Great Adam Gilchrist said that he is impressed by performance of Carey in wicketkeeping and batting.
On Thursday, in a video interview Carey said, “If I play for Australia just with the white ball, I’m a very happy man. It’s been a really enjoyable couple of seasons playing for Australia in T20 and one-dayers.”
“I hopefully will continue to learn and be good enough one day to earn a test cap. But there’s a lot to do between now and then and if it does happen.” he added.
Although playing only limited overs has restricted his first class experience, He said, ” shifting from one format to another is not easy. I’m learning about my game every time I go out and play cricket, whether it’s white ball or the red ball.”
“With limited opportunity, it’s been probably a little bit difficult…but that’s the way it is now,” he added.
Right now he should have been playing in The Indian Premier League 2020 but he is cooling his heels at home because the biggest cricket league in the world has been postponed indefinitely due to coronavirus pandemic.
