Jurgen Klopp stated in his press conference that Alisson and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain have returned to full training. If the two of them show no discomfort or pain in training, they will even have a chance of featuring for Liverpool against Fulham on Sunday.
Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas will be assessed before the match
The duo suffered knocks in the match against Midtjylland as Jurgen Klopp made the bizarre decision of fielding many senior players. Despite the number of complaints he has raised and the logical reasons he has given for the problems. But despite that, in a match which had zero consequences, Jurgen Klopp decided to field many of his starting players.
Fabinho, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander Arnold and Naby Keita all featured for Liverpool and played more than 45 minutes too. Klopp should’ve used this opportunity to rest his whole starting 11 and given fringe players and academy players a chance. UEFA requires that every participating team in the Champions League needs to submit a ‘List B’ which contains youth players along with their 25 man squad. Liverpool registered 12 players in list B among which Curtis Jones, Rhys Williams and Neco Williams have featured in the group stage prominently.
It remains bizarre why Jurgen Klopp decided to not use his academy players and give the entire first team players a rest. Now Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas are testament to the mistake Klopp has made.
