Volkanovski and Ortega are going to kick off the new season of “The Ultimate Fighter” as the coaches but Alex’s fight with Max Holloway seems inevitable as well. Especially after his performance against Calvin Kattar.

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani Volkanovski said, “I’ve got Ortega to worry about, so obviously he’s got my full 100% focus, but I’d be lying to you if I said I don’t think that fight with Max Holloway will happen in near future. I ain’t scared of nobody.”
“I love Max myself; I’ve got nothing against the dude. He looked great in his last performance. Whether people like it or not… I ain’t gonna let you do your thing. Max is not only a great fighter; he has got a great team behind him.”

“The way they put him [Calvin Kattar] on the backfoot and just didn’t let him have a chance… but I understand the game. Styles make fights, he did look great.”

In the same interview he added, “A finish over anybody is going to be good… Max Holloway doesn’t get finished. He has obviously been good. But can he be finished? Of course, he can.”

“That would be a goal of mine if we would ever do it… but at the same time when you got two guys playing chess, you gotta do what you gotta do. At the same time, everyone is looking for that finish. “
