Here Zverev won his first match, against Italian Lorenzo Sonego, but lost in the next round to David Goffin. Turns out that Zverev was dealing with an elbow injury.

Injuries happen at sports. I had one at my elbow,” Zverev said ahead of the Munich Open. Zverev continued, “Before the tournament in Monte Carlo I didn’t play tennis for nearly three weeks but I decided to play there. Zverev concluded by saying, “In these circumstances it was decent against Goffin. To beat a good player like him you need more practice. The elbow gets better week by week now.”
