Andre Drummond leads short-handed LA Lakers over Brooklyn Nets

Andre Drummond

Andre Drummond has just shown glimpses of what he was potentially bought for by the LA Lakers. Drummond led the shorthanded LA Lakers over the mighty, star-studded Brooklyn Nets with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge all on the floor. Drummond scored team-high 20 points in just 22 minutes.

Out of the 11 players who played for the LA Lakers, 8 of them scored in double digits, all the starters for the away team scored 14 or more. Dennis Schroder had 19, while Markieff Morris, Talen Horton Tucker and Kentavious Caldwell Pope all had 14 points registered against their name. While Ben McLemore was sensational coming off the bench and adding 17 for the Lakers.

Talking about the Brooklyn Nets, they were led by Kevin Durant who scored 22 points. While Kyrie Irving and LaMarcus Aldridge added 18 and 12 points respectively. The Brooklyn Nets struggled offensively against the short-handed LA lakers, especially from behind the arc. As a result, their efficiency was less than 20%.

The LA lakers outscored the Nets 65-43 in the second half of the game to register a demolishing 25-point margin victory. With Anthony Davis set to return in 2 weeks and LeBron James in 3 weeks, this has been the defending champions most complete performance without their marquee pair. Given Drummond’s such form, he could surely be an asset when the Lakers get back to their full roster strength.
