Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are set to face-off in arguably one of the most important boxing fights in heavyweight boxing history. The two Englishmen will fight it out for the undisputed heavyweight title, sometime this year, with the two fight deal for the title unification bout already signed by both the parties.
Just last week Tyson Fury sent a fear-wave across the boxing community, claiming that his fight with Anthony Joshua might not take place. However, AJ’s latest social media message proves that the fight is very close to being finalized.
Joshua tweeted that the promotion company under which he fights (Matchroom Boxing), have received their first official offer to host the high-voltage contest. He added that there was no place to hide anymore, for the ‘Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury.
‘I’m lacing up my running boots rn‘ – Anthony Joshua
Joshua tweeted, “Positive news this evening! I’m lacing up my running boots rn! 258MGT and Matchroomboxing have received the first OFFICIAL offer to host the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship Of The WORLD! I will be victorious God Willing! No place to hide now! I’M COMING!”
Anthony Joshua is coming off a splendid knockout victory over Kubrat Pulev, last December. He was hardly troubled in that fight by the experienced Bulgarian, and on winning so AJ set up the marquee clash with Fury.
Fury, on the other hand, hasn’t stepped inside the boxing ring, since dilapidating Deontay Wilder at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in February 2020. Even recently, he revealed that he has been out of shape. But with Fury, one never knows, as the man ups the ante whenever he wants to.
