The tournament has been taking place in Schroders, south-western London from 23rd of June. It will conclude on Sunday, 28th June 2020. Its main aim is to prepare players for the 2 majors: US OPEN and ROLAND GARROS. They will go underway in August-September. It has strict rules: No spectators, no commentators, no media, not even line judges: Chair umpires are assisted by hawk-eyed cameras. Social-distancing is also strictly being followed.

The Schroders Battle of the Brits is structured as a round-robin format, with eight singles players divided into two groups of four, whilst the six doubles pairs will be divided into two groups of three. Group winners and runner’s up will progress to a semi-final knockout round.

It features players like Andy Murray, Jamie Murray, Kyle Edmund, Dan Evans, Liam Brody and top-British players.

The tournament is set to raise 100,000 pounds for charity.

On Wednesday, Andy Murray lost 6-7(2) 7-6(5) 10-5: an extremely hard-fought match to Kyle Edmund. It roused Grand-Slam Match like tension. Murray is trying to get back on tour post his hip surgery and problems. When quizzed about how he felt about the loss to Kyle Edmund, he said, “To be honest, I am not bothered about the results of the match. After a match like that, I hope my hip is OK, and I pull up well from it. I know if my hip is good, my tennis will only improve and get better over the next few months. If I can get consistent practice. The hip feels good. If I play like that and do a few things better, sharpen up a couple of things, I will play high-level tennis.”

“That was good, positive. Then it’s pulling up the next day, see how you feel, not getting in a situation where you have to take two to three weeks off to recover basically.”
