Countries around the globe have enforced lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic. Everyone is staying at home and that include our favorite athletes. So to do something productive the Australian tennis player the Ashleigh Barty practiced her trademark forehand volleys with the cricket bat.
Barty also tweeted the video of her own practicing volleys with a caption stating “Brick wall, Golf ball, technique bat and forehand volleys. Sir Donald inspired cricket bat and ball, Happy Easter everyone.”
Barty who plays professional tennis has now tried her hands on cricket too. She represented Brisbane Heat in women’s Bug Bash League.
Barty has also taken a break from tennis in 2014 and after a year she played in women’s big bash league (WBBL) but returned to tennis in 2016 again.
Barty became the first player from her country to win a major singles when she won French Open in 2019 defeating Marketa Vondrousova. Before her Samantha Stosur won 2011 US Open. She also led Australia in 2019 Fed up to a runner up finish.
