The Danish powerhouse has made a new addition to their roster, signing Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen on a two-year contract.

A month ago reports read that Bubzkji has left MAD Lions, and the 22-year-old rifler’s new home has now become public – Astralis.

The Danish powerhouse has swooped in for their rival’s highest-rated player, adding a new seventh-man to their roster as they have simultaneously released Jakob “JUGi” Hansen.

“When I heard about Astralis’ interest, I already made up my mind”, Bubzkji explained, adding that he “had other options”, but was convinced about the prospect after talking to Danny “zonic” Sørensen and Kasper Hvidt, the team’s Director of Sports.

“I know people will ask about the roster size,” Bubzkji says, referring to the seven players Astralis currently have contracted, “but for me it’s simple. Astralis has introduced a lot of new ideas to the way the game is played and it is done with one purpose: To become better as individuals and as a team – and to win.”

With the release of JUGi — who stated that his time in Astralis “only confirmed to me, this is what I want to do and I look forward to playing for another team” — and the duo of Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander and Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth still designated as “on leave”,

It seems like Astralis will kick off the season with the trio of Nicolai “device” Reedtz, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, and Emil “Magisk” Reif, with newcomers Patrick “es3tag” Hansen and Bubzkji completing the lineup.

Kasper Hvidt added that they signed Bubzkji on a two-year contract, and that “as always, it will take time to get used to Astralis’ playbook, but after talking with him, the coach and the team, I have no doubt Lucas will be able to contribute from day one”.

The team is currently on a break and will begin their training for the upcoming season on Monday with an “off site bootcamp”.

Astralis are now:

Nicolai “device” Reedtz
Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen

Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen

Danny “zonic” Sørensen (coach)
