But with the time span between tournaments being way too short, it’s is going to be extremely hard for players to shift from grass to clay within a week.

Some of the upcoming tournaments are the US Open, the Roland Garros and the Masters 1000 of Cincinnati, Rome and Madrid.

It is going to be extremely difficult for players, as firstly the tournaments are being held after such a prolonged stop, and then they have to be careful to dose their energies to avoid running into serious injuries as well as getting used to sudden surface changes.

The former World No.1 is surely influenced by this break, but he is also well-known about the opportunity he has, to match the eternal rival Roger Federer at 20 Grand Slam Titles.

Rafael told Associated Press, “It’s much easier to (get) a body ready (that is) 21 years old, than a body that is 34 years old.”

“This is 100 percent. But at the same time, a 34 year old body and mind have much more experience than a body and mind of 21 years old. So I don’t know what’s going to happen. In general terms, it’s better for young guy, because all this period of time that we lost, a young guy has plenty of time to recover.” Rafael added

Rafael further added, “an older guy, in terms of ‘timing we lost the same amount of time, (but) in terms of perspective, it’s different. Because losing at 34 or 36 or 33, is not the same as losing a year at 20, when you have all your career in front of you.”

Tennis legend John McEnroe in an interview with BBC said, “Rafa is the one you would think that might be a bit tricky for him to go from hard to clay. That’s not something he likes to do or has done very often.”

He then mentioned that he believes, the ‘King of the Clay’ Nadal will skip US Open and Roland Garros both and go for French Open in Paris, taking place just a fortnight after US Open.
