Due to coronavirus pandemic, tennis has halted since early March. And after waiting for a long period of 5 months, the ATP circuit plans to restart in August, with the organizers announcing the calendar until October.

For the top players, it is going to be very challenging to embrace two Majors and three Masters on two different surfaces in seven weeks. As other than Washington, there are 2 tournaments in New York, Cincinnati Masters, and the US Open along with Kitzbuhel, Madrid, Rome, and Roland Garros reserved for the clay warriors in September.

Before Novak tested positive he said, he might be skipping US Open. Also, recently Toni Nadal, said Rafa aka Rafael Nadal should choose one between US Open and French Open as such important tournaments are scheduled in such a short time period.

The famous coach further mentioned that Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer cannot afford to play week after week especially of their age and that too after a long break.

Federer, due to his knee surgeries be skipping 2020 season and will be competing in January at the Australian Open.

“I have no idea what Rafael will do, but yes he is yet to decide. I find it a little ugly what ATP has done with the calendar. It is almost unaffordable for older people like Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal to play weekly,” Toni said, as quoted by TennisWorldUSA.org
