Naomi Osaka, one of the prime favourites at the ongoing Australian Open defeated Ons Jabeur in straight sets in the 3rd round of the open and extended her win streak to an unbeaten 17. Despite the scoreline, the Japanese tennis ace did not have it easy as she was regularly tested in her service right from the very beginning which led to her saving a lot of break points before surviving and pulling through.

Osaka also uncharacteristically made a lot of unforced errors in the match. In the end, it was all well as she cruised through in the second set to take the match 6-3, 6-2. She will face former world no. 1 Garbine Muguruza next in a match that promises to be a cracker.

Naomi Osaka reacts after win

Naomi Osaka was interviewed on court after her win in the third round and she talked about the match saying, “For me it was really fun, I don’t know I was really nervous and scared because I didn’t know she was going to hit a drop shot on any ball so I felt kind of rushed. But I hope that you guys enjoyed the match and thanks for coming out today.”

Osaka is aiming to clinch her second Australian Open title this year, having won previously in 2019. She is also a two-time US Open Champion. The aim for her will now be on the prize for which she is without a doubt, one of the favorites.
