Sofia Kenin is back to defend her crown at this year’s Australian Open. Ranked at no.4 in the world, the American was a finalist at last year’s French open as well. With an overall game that is inadvertently aggressive, Kenin is at her best from the baseline. Maddison Inglis will be one of the many local talents that will be on display at this year’s Australian Open. Currently ranked at no.112 in the world, this 23 year old from Western Australia is definitely one for the future.

Sofia Kenin

Kenin suffered a leg injury against Garbine Muguruza at the semifinal of the warm up tournament in Melbourne. Something that Kenin and her camp are confident will not affect her performance at the Aussie Open. Maddison Inglis won an ATP challenger trophy at last year’s  Burnie international. Something that will give her confidence while playing at the hard courts of the Australian Open. If not fully fit, Kenin might face troubles against Inglis.
