World no.3 Naomi Osaka has stopped Serena Williams’ latest bid for a record-tying 24th Grand Slam singles title in the Australian Open semifinals.
Osaka reached her fourth major final by beating Williams 6-3, 6-4 to stretch her winning streak to 20 matches(excluding the walkovers).
The American veteran had a strong start, winning the first 2 games but Osaka broke back and cruised comfortably in the opening set. In the next set, she broke Williams to begin the set and never looked back.

Following her big win, wishes poured in on Twitter congratulating and praising the Japanese. With this win, Naomi extends her Head-to-head with her childhood idol 2-0 in the grand slams. Many celebrities and fans heaped praises on the talented youngster.

After her dream win against Williams, Osaka will player either of Jennifer Brady or Karolina Muchova in the final. Both Brady and Muchova haven’t played a grand slam final yet and hence Osaka will fancy her chances of a 4th Major on Saturday.
