Australian Open 2021 is set to commence from February 8

Australian Open 2021 is just about 20 days away from it’s scheduled start, February 8. The first Grandslam of the year was delayed by three weeks due to scheduling errors. Several top players have arrived in Australia and are completing their 14-day mandatory quarantine period.

Roger Federer has decided to skip the Australian Open and delay his much-awaited return. However, the men’s field is not short of star players, as Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic headline the men’s singles event at the Australian Open. Novak Djokovic chases his record extending ninth title at the Rod Laver Arena, whereas Rafael Nadal chases his second Australian Open title since 2009.

As far as the women’s circuit is concerned, home favorite and world number one, Ashleigh Barty will make her comeback. Naomi Osaka, Simona Halep, Serena Williams are among the other few big names on the women’s side of the draw.

Nine Network is the official broadcaster of the Australian Open 2021

Nine Network is the official broadcaster of the Australian Open 2021 after acquiring it’s rights in 2020 for a tenure of five years. In Europe, Eurosport is the exclusive broadcaster for the Grandslam. Swiss Broadcasting Channel (SBC) will telecast the event live in Switzerland, RTS (Radio Television of Serbia) in Serbia.

In India, fans will get a glimpse of Australian Open 2021 on Sony SIX network. In Japan, it will telecasted live on NHK and pay-TV network WOWOW. In China, the national broadcaster CCTV along with Shanghai TV and Beijing TV will telecast the first Grandslam of the year. Fans from around the world will be able to witness their favorite players fight it out against each other in Australia.
