PUBG Mobile is a popular mobile battle royale title in many regions around the world. Since the game was banned in India in September last year, many Indian players have tried to play the PUBG Mobile Korean version instead because its servers are not restricted. After the original ban, the PUBG Mobile KR Ban in India was a piece of devastating news for Indian gamers playing this game without using any VPN directly from India.

PUBG Mobile restricted the Players from outside of Korea and Japan on the PUBG Mobile KR game. Krafton will start limiting access to the game from July 1, 2021. So far, due to the ban on the Indian version of the game, users from the country used to download the APK until the PUBG Mobile KR Ban and play it. But through a new update, the developer has decided to end access to gamers from regions other than Japan and Korea.

With Battlegrounds Mobile India to launch soon, and the Pre-Registrations just launched a couple of days ago, it seems to hold the same fate as its earlier versions. The game to come had even released a teaser and a brand new Battlegrounds Mobile India Logo has broken all speculations of new battle royale games coming to India. With the game’s onset in July, politicians are requesting a ban on the game. Former Union Minister and current Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Erin wrote to the Prime Minister stating that the game’s release is a threat to the privacy and security of Indians.

Another Member of Parliament, Abhishek Singhvi, tweeted that the game’s release is Tencent’s re-entry in India. Although the game has not released yet and is not available for download, it has been surrounded by a new controversy. Indian politicians are seeking a ban on the game as it threatens the privacy and security of Indian citizens. The request was made by the former Union Minister and current Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Erin. The MLA wrote to the PM seeking an immediate ban and “not allow Chinese deception.”

He stated that multiple companies connected to PUBG, including Krafton, Tencent and PUBG India Pvt. Ltd. are trying to sidestep Indian laws and deceive Indian citizens and government by relaunching the game with a new name. He added that this is a “mere illusion and a trick to launch same game with minor modifications to collect user data of millions of our citizens and transfer it to foreign companies and Chinese government.”

Although it’s not possible to ban a game before its release, fans are speculating the gravity of the situation and are worried about its withdrawal once again. While a game does not require the government’s permit to launch a game, it can be banned on grounds of a data security breach.
