Nepotism doesn’t matter in Cricket, says Aakash Chopra

Former Indian Player, Aakash Chopra has said that nepotism is not that relevant in cricket as compared to other industries. “One doesn’t get the chances at a higher level by performing at the domestic level,” the player said.

“If we see the bigger picture, Rohan Gavaskar is the son of Sunil Gavaskar. Rohan should have played cricket but it didn’t happen this way. He ended up playing cricket when he had things with Bengal domestic cricket”, said Chopra on his YouTube channel.

“Sunil Gavaskar didn’t introduce his son to play from Mumbai. The same will go with Sachin Tendulkar. So, I don’t think nepotism is that relent in cricket world”, Chopra added,

Rohan Tendulkar has to play for higher-level for India but Rohan Gavaskar has already played 11 ODIs for India.

The news of nepotism in the industry came out of its cage once again. This time the reason is the film actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise. Chopra spoke up after one fan asked him whether cricket has nepotism or not.

Chopra played 10 Tests for India and managed to score 437 runs with an average of 23.00.
