India recently secured one of their greatest series wins by defeating Australia in their own backyard by a scoreline of 2-1. What was even more impressive was the fact that India were dealt with injuries to a plethora of players and their skipper Virat Kohli had to leave after the first Test which turned out to be a drubbing, on paternity leave. Even with their backs against the walls, India came roaring back.

Stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane fashioned a superb comeback win in the second Test before a rearguard from Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin helped India escape with a draw in the third. In the fourth Test, India chased down a mammoth 328 on a Day 5 pitch thanks to commanding knocks from Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant as well as a characteristically patient knock from Cheteshwar Pujara.

Rajeev Shukla points out wrong religion of Washington Sundar

Newly appointed Vice-President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rajeev Shukla took to Twitter to post an appreciation tweet for the Indian team. Firstly, he posted a picture of Rishabh Pant and Mohammed Siraj and pointed out their religions. He was criticized for bringing religion into cricket, by users immediately.

Shukla then went on to post another tweet where he mentioned the different religions of different players in the Indian team. In the same, he made a huge blunder by wrongly referring to Washington Sundar‘s religion as Christianity when in actuality, he is a Hindu. Again, Shukla received backlash as well as trolls from Twitter users following the tweet.
