Bellator is signing out of 2021 in style as they have an exciting bantamweight title matchup between current champion Sergio Pettis and former champion Kyoji Horiguchi at Bellator 272.

Bellator could not have dreamed of a better way to end their event schedule for 2021 as former UFC fighter and now bantamweight champion in Bellator MMA is set to make his first title defense against the two-promotional bantamweight champion Kyoji Horiguchi. The two fighters have exciting styles and there is no doubt the fight will be fireworks.

The fight is held at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on December 3rd. Fans can watch Pettis vs Horiguchi live on Showtime. To build up the hype ahead of the bantamweight matchup, the promotion dropped a countdown video for the two fighters and the MMA community is loving it. The video shows both Sergio Pettis and Kyoji talking about their big fight with some great training footage.

In the video, you can see Sergio saying he is prepared to “Kill” inside the octagon. Kyoji is dismissive of Pettis’ achievement as the Japanese fighter believes he should be the only true champion. Watch the full video:

Kyoji is coming to the Bellator to take what’s his. Horiguchi was a former Bellator bantamweight champion and was forced to vacate his spot as the champ because of a knee injury in 2019. What makes the Japanese bantamweight special is that he is the only fighter in history to be champions in both Bellator and Rizin FF.

Horiguchi has lost only one fight in his last 15 and is coming to snap Pettis’ three-fight winning streak. Pettis became the eighth Bellator bantamweight champion by defeating Juan Archuleta and is looking to make a successful title defense.

Kyoji coming back to the Bellator to fight for the bantamweight title is as exciting as it gets. Do you think Sergio Pettis will remain as champion after Bellator 272?
