Ben Simmons played for 35 points for the Philadelphia 76ers and managed to register only 5 minutes, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, yet emerges as the hero. Simmons eon it for the Philadelphia 76ers right at the buzzer in OT against rigid San Antonio Spurs. Joel Embiid led the away team with 34 points and 12 rebounds. Seth Curry added 22.

Talking about the San Antonio Spurs, they were led by Lonnie Walker IV who came off the bench to score team-high 23 points, while Keldon Johnson had 19, Rudy Gay had 18 and Gorgui Dieng added 17 points.

With the game tied at 105 a piece, both teams looked sluggish in OT, as 76ers managed to score only 6, whereas Spurs did even worse to knock 4 points. With the scores tied at 111, Joel Embiid tried to score with a turnaround jumper but his shot bounced off the rim. Just when Ben Simmons was able to get to the ball first and tap it in the bucket. 

San Antonio tied the game at 102 on Gay’s 3-pointer with 2:37 remaining in regulation. The Sixers reclaimed the lead on the ensuing possession with a 3-pointer by Curry only to watch Johnson hit another game-tying 3.

Embiid and Johnson muscled their way into the lane to keep the game tied at 107 with 1:03 remaining. After Matisse Thybulle blocked Patty Mills’ 3-point attempt, Embiid missed a fade-away jumper from 15 feet to send the game to overtime. 

The away team wings found holes in the zone and either passed to Embiid or the 76ers center gathered and followed up a missed shot. Embiid had 13 points in the first quarter, including 12 in the paint. 

Philadelphia 76ers’ reserves added to the advantage, building a 17-point lead behind Howard and former Spurs guard George Hill.
