American Tennis Player, Serena Williams has reportedly pulled out from the ongoing French Open 2020 due to Achilles injury. This has come as a major shock for the fans of Serena as they desperately wanted Serena to finally win her record-equaling 24th Grand Slam title. The same injury had forced her to withdraw from Internazionali BNL d’Italia earlier this month.

The 38-year old tennis icon was looking in superb form in the opening round as she blanked compatriot Kristie Ahn 7-6, 6-0. Serena was due to play Tsvetana pironokova in the Round of 64. It is a surprise that Achilles injury has again come to haunt her as before the French Open began, Serena was confident that she had fully recovered and was determined to finally capture her 24th Grand Slam. This has surely opened up the women’s draw quite considerably and it would be interesting to see who is able to seize this opportunity. We wish Serena all the best for a speedy recovery!
