The trade that shook the basketball world once and for all. It has been nine months since the shocking Luka Doncic – Anthony Davis trade but it does not look like Dallas fans have come to terms with it yet.
Dallas Mavericks owner Patrick Dumont was captured sitting beside a young Dallas fan during Mavericks’ close loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. But what caught everyone’s attention was the fan donning a Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic jersey.
The young fan is 18-year-old Nicholas Dickason, who like most Dallas fans, was disgruntled by the trade and decided to wear former Mavericks star Doncic’s Lakers jersey as a sign of resentment.
Dickason said he flipped off Dumont during the brief exchange and his dad told him to apologize.
The young fan later revealed that the encounter was not random but it was part of an apology he wanted to make since opening night. The two ended up bonding over basketball and turned an unpleasant encounter into one of mutual respect, ending it with an apology. Dallas Mavericks beat writer Ron Harrod Jr. shared the story and video clips of the exchange between Dumont and Dickason courtside.

Nico Harrison On The Hot Seat
Things have been far from smooth for the General Manager of the Dallas Mavericks, Nico Harrison. Following the blockbuster trade of Luka Doncic for 10-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis, Harrison has often found himself on the receiving end of Dallas’ fans dissatisfaction.

The trade has continued to divide the Mavericks fanbase as “Fire Nico” chants were heard inside the arena during the game against the Bucks. To make matters worse, another injury to Anthony Davis has only reignited the fans’ frustrations as they suffered a narrow 116-114 loss to Milwaukee.
There have been reports emerging lately that the relationship between Dumont and Harrison has taken quite a bit of hit since the trade in February. The trust between the two seems to have completely disintegrated.
It has not been the start that Dallas and Harrison were looking for, but if the team do not manage to turn their form around anytime soon, the question hanging over his future will be a matter of when, not if.
Luka Doncic Sans Dallas Mavericks Off To Terrible Start
Nothing is going according to plan for Dallas since the trade as the team currently sit at 14th in a competitive and stacked Western Conference with only three wins in 11 games. With Anthony Davis ruled out due to injury and Kyrie Irving being a long term absentee, things do not look promising for Dallas this season.
To add fuel to the fire, Luka Doncic has been on a rampage in LA and has led the Lakers to eight wins out of their 11 games as they sit at fourth in the standings with the Slovenian star averaging 37.1 points per game in seven appearances so far to go along with 9.4 rebounds and 9.1 assists.
With Lebron James yet to make an appearance this season after suffering an injury in preseason that will keep him out for at least the first three weeks of the season. The Lakers are currently in a far more promising situation heading forward this season compared to Dallas, who have just made their worst start to a campaign since the 2018-19 season.
