Novak Djokovic’s Adria Tour has been the hot-button issue for quite some time now after he tested positive for coronavirus. Not just Djokovic, but his current Coach and Fitness Coach have also tested positive. He is criticised a lot by former tennis players and audience worldwide.
Unlike them, Novak Djokovic’s former coach Boris Becker stood in his defence, claiming that once when you are 30, having to spend time with friends is quite normal.
Everything seemed right on track, heading back for the second leg of the competition until players like Grigor Dimitrov, Victor Troicki and Borna Coric tested positive for the virus.

When asked about the dismissive remarks Djokovic sustained, Becker replied “Yes, I think the criticism in unfair. Partying and Basketball may have been unnecessary. But when you are 30, you want to enjoy with your friends,”.
Although it was much liked by the Serbian fans to still see the German support his former coachee, under who he has won many Grand Slam Titles. Climbing his way up to be recognised as The Big 3. However, the German was not the only one who supported Novak, many like from Djokovic’s own country who rushed to his defence.

At the time Corona virus was alive in all parts of the globe, while Serbia was at the stage when its potency began to weaken and most rules were relaxed, thus the Adria humanitarian tour, the brain-child of Djokovic was allowed to happen.
The sad incident with a couple from the team catching the virus is no different from many others getting infected anywhere else, but it came as a welcome tool for those envious, dirty minds of the western world to blame Djokovic. Those minds collectively find it extremely hard to digest Novak’s sporting abilities as well as his human qualities, only because he comes from the eastern country.
The world has been watching the Big West perpetrating injustice of all sorts and all over the world.
Novak Djokovic has made his name in the most humane way, so he should feel far above all this trash.
Yes, Novak receives undue criticism for many reasons. Being ethnically different from majority of tour; being so open about his Christian beliefs; and breaking from lock step views regarding Covid 19.
Shameful that one can be so villified for having opposing points of view and being culturally different in 2020.
In so many ways, ad hominem arguments are the best that many make against Djoker.
You have raised some good points for all of us to consider before attacking Novak’s character or his motives even if his judgement was flawed in his decision to play under circumstances with crowds etc…
