Big Bout League makes it’s debut, Punjab makes a winning start

Big Bout League, a franchise based league for boxers has made its debut on Monday. In opening ceremony, Ajay Singh, President of Boxing federation of India said “The youth can consider the Big Bout League platform as a good practice ahead of the 2020 Olympics and we want to innovate, we want boxing to have that zing! The blocking rule will really be interesting and will encourage the boxers to go harder”.

In opening match Punjab Warriors defeated Odisha Panthers by 5-2. In first bout Manoj Kumar of Punjab defeated Rakhmonov of Odisha to give initial lead. In second bout Jasmine of Odisha opened the account and scoreline was 1-1 as she outplayed Sapna.

In third bout of match odisha took the lead as Prasad from Punjab Panthers posed some serious threat to Deepak. After that all punjab boxers sealed victories and won the match 4-2. Soniya Lather gathered the crucial point for Punjab Panthers in the game after Bout 4.

Next was the most anticipated bout of the match, as legendary Mary Kom showed sheer domination  and clean sweep Savita in bout 5.

Next match of Big Bout is between Bangalore Brawlers and  NE Rhinos. TOSS is a new thin that we saw in this league, if a team wins the toss they can block a category in which they think opposition boxer is strong as compare to their team.
