Crowds go wild when Rey Mysterio enters the ring. He has had a brilliant wrestling career spanning over two decades, which makes it a no brainer as to why Henry Cejudo looks up to him.

Mysterio was one of the most popular wrestlers in WWE history. Rey spent the majority of his wrestling career with the World Wrestling Entertainment. During that time, he performed in 619 matches and won 133 of them. He has also participated in 18 pay-per-views, including WrestleMania 22 where he competed for World Heavyweight Championship and from which he emerged victorious on that same night.

Rey is one of seven wrestlers to hold both WWE Championships (the world heavyweight belt) and WCW Championships at different points during their careers. He retired from wrestling in 2015 after being diagnosed with a severe case of bursitis.

In a Tweet post WrestleMania 38, Henry tells how Rey was an inspiration. Cejudo tells, “I’ve been watching Rey Mysterio since I was 9 years old. How the hell is he still this damn good!?! Absolute legend & icon.” This isnt the first time Henry opens up about Rey.

Previously in an interview he tells, ” My relationship with Rey is unique because I’ve known him since I was 13 years old. In fact, he taught me a lot of the stuff that I know right now. A lot of my philosophy on fighting is because of him. He thinks outside the box, and he basically told me that you need to be creative to beat these people because they’re always going to be bigger, stronger and faster than you are in almost every case. He told me some wrestling moves that I use in MMA today, even if they’re not great ones.
