The NBA 2021-22 season is almost upon us. Two fixtures will begin things – on the 19th of October. The defending champions Milwaukee Bucks will square off against the Brooklyn Nets. Later that night, it will be LeBron James vs Stephen Curry – Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors.

With the world gearing up for an action-packed eight months, talk about the top players, top teams, stats and whatnot have begun gathering steam. YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul took to Twitter to name his top 5 players in the world’s top basketball league.

‘The Problem Child’s list had the usual suspects LeBron James and Stephen Curry. The others Paul named were Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker, Portland Trail Blazer’s Damian Lillard and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. He also acknowledged the fact that 2 of the top 5 players he named would be facing off later “tonight.”

“2 of my top 5 players going at it” – Jake Paul

Jake Paul wrote, “Tuning in tonight… 2 of my top 5 players going at it. @NBA is back! My top 5: 5. Devin Booker 4. Steph Curry 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Lebron James. What’s your top 5?

Being born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio it is no big surprise that Paul named fellow Ohio native LeBron James as his top NBA player. And, surprisingly he left out the surging Greek – Giannis Antetokounmpo who has already won the NBA MVP twice (2019 and 2020).

The Lakers and Warriors will be looking forward to putting on a better show this year. The Lakers scraped through to the playoffs last year, only to be defeated by the Phoenix Suns in the very first round. The Warriors, on the other hand, didn’t make it to the playoffs for the second straight year.
