The WBC Heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury defended his title against Deontay Wilder in a trilogy fight recently. With this win Fury improved his undefeated streak to 31-0-1 and now he is being compared with many of the greatest mixed martial artists in the world.

Tyson Fury’s father John Fury believes now his fight with Oleksandr Usyk makes sense next. Many people are talking about Fury’s successor, and according to his father, there is one UFC fighter than can handle his legacy.

John Fury believes the UFC Heavyweight fighter, Tom Aspinall can be the successor of his son and become the Heavyweight champion of UFC as well as boxing. Aspinall has helped Tyson Fury by sparring with him before his fight against Wladimir Klitschko.

Talking about Tom Aspinall in his latest interview with Give Me Sport, John Fury says, “I’m telling you now, Tom Aspinall will do big things in the UFC, but he’ll also have a crossover bout and he’ll probably be the first MMA fighter to do mega things in boxing as well,”

“But he’s got bottle and guts to burn, and he’s a big strong lad. He’s willing to learn and improve his game. He’s a good listener Tom Aspinall, I like him, I like his attitude, he’s a warrior like Tyson.” {h/T Manchester Evening News}

Tom Aspinall is undefeated in UFC and holds a record of 4-0. He recently defeated Sergey Spivak on UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs Till. Aspinall is currently ranked number 11th in the UFC Heavyweight division and John Fury believes after he captures the UFC Heavyweight title, he can change the sport and win the WBC Heavyweight title as well.

John Fury continued, “He doesn’t let nothing overcome him. He doesn’t let anything get in his way. Look at the mark he’s already making, he’s in the top 10 now in the UFC, he’s only young still.”

“And I think when he’s done there, he can be the first crossover to come from the MMA world to conventional boxing and win titles, and I said that first. Keep doing your thing Tom Aspinall, you’re great mate, I like you a lot.”
