Jake Paul- Canelo Alvarez

Future legend of the sport of boxing, Canelo Alvarez is a man of honour and integrity and to disrespect him by stealing his limelight is not a good idea at all! Alvarez, who’s coming off a loss at the cruiserweight title fight against undefeated Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol is regardless, one of the greatest boxers of all time in Latin American history and definitely the best super middleweight fighter of this generation. Alvarez was DAZN’s Fighter of the Year while his coach Eddy Reynoso was Trainer of the Year.

Canelo Alvarez

Only time will after his second career loss and first-ever loss in almost 9 years, what is next for the Mexican great, but he definitely has more years to come since he is only 31 years old. Alvarez’s wins include the likes of Gennady Golovkin, Liam Smith, Callum Smith, Ben Saunders, Sergei Kovalev, Caleb Plant, Amir Khan, Miguel Cotto, James Kirkland, Daniel Jacobs, Avni Yildrim and many more legends of past and future. Canelo Alvarez vs Avni Yildrim

In one of Alvarez’s fights against Turkish professional boxer Avni Yildirim whom Alvarez defeated via third-round TKO, Alvarez was scheduled for an in-ring interview right after. Out of nowhere, as Alvarez was being interviewed, a couple of guys got noticed in the camera standing behind Alvarez wearing a Jake Paul t-shirt. Alvarez noticed what was happening behind him and was quick enough to harshly command the Jake Paul ring crashers to “get the fuck off” and called them “f**kers” as they moved off the stage.

It was truly a sight disliked by many in the boxing community. For the fans, that felt like a disrespect to Alvarez. However, Paul, who’s a Youtuber-cum-boxer has shown his desire time and again to fight Alvarez someday and when Alvarez lost his last fight to Bivol, Paul claimed that even he would defeat Alvarez as a cruiserweight and that he needs 3 years and a strong belief system to do that.

What do you make of this throwback incident from 2021 in Alvarez vs Yildrim boxing event and imagine what you would’ve done as a fan-favourite boxer had you encountered the situation? Do you think Paul really has a chance against Alvarez? For sure, Paul has shut many doubters up with his knockout wins over multiple time world champions in MMA, Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley. Paul has meanwhile announced his return on August 13, 2022. Who do you think is his next opponent?
