After Brooklyn Nets acquired Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in 2019, they strengthened their offense to a new level. Both players have prestigious reputations and can change the course of the game in the blink of an eye. However, the Nets were not satisfied with them, so they went onto acquire James Harden from Houston Rockets during this season. This made Brooklyn Nets, the most offensive team in the league.

But the arrival of Harden meant Caris LeVert, Taurean Prince and Jarrett Allen needed to head to the departure gate. All these 3 players are capable defenders. What led after Harden’s trade was Nets being exposed at the back court and teams with decent players were also able to put pressure on such a strong side. In their most recent outing against the Washington Wizards, the duo of Westbrook and Beal combined to score 76 points to snatch a devastating victory because of the Nets defensive vulnerabilities.

Brooklyn Nets could be Worst Defensive Team of All-Time

In the six games that the Nets’ Big 3 has played together, they are 4-2. They lost their first two games to the Cavaliers, who torched them. Collin Sexton was the hero for them, but the Cavs’ big men also had a field day with the Nets’ paint defense. They won the next four games in a row but conceded at least 124 points in three games.

Tonight, the Nets fell to the Wizards to record their ninth loss of the season. Although they missed Harden today, their defense was abysmal once again. They lost 146-149 and allowed the Wizards to score eight points in less than nine seconds. It was an amazing comeback for the Wizards, but it was just poor defending by the Nets.
