Bundesliga : FC Bayern Munich vs VfL Bochum player ratings as Bayern produce magic with a 7-0 win at home

The mighty FC Bayern Munich were aiming to win those three points and reclaim the top spot in the leaderboard at Allianz Arena. Their upcoming Bundesliga fixture being against VfL Bochum, it wasn’t that hard to do. Infact, Bayern thrashed Bochum at their home game with an astonishing 7-0 win.

Bayern had a very eventful first-half with four goals coming in total. Leroy Sané started off the proceedings for Bayern in the 17th minute by getting them that first goal. Ever since then came a string of goals. Joshua Kimmich & Serge Gnabry followed that with a goal each to make it 3-0 by 32nd minute. In an unfortunate way, an own goal by Vasilis made it an overall 4-0 for Bayern in the first half.

VfL Bochum had it coming in a much tormenting way as Lewandowski, Kimmich and Choupo-Moting scored a goal each in the second-half and finished the match on a high with a 7-0 thumping win. On that note, let’s have a look at how the players performed :

FC Bayern Munich

Josip Stanišić (6.7/10) : The defender was excellent with long balls and did well with his passing but got substituted in the 62nd minute. All in all, he had a decent game.

Niklas Süle (7.5/10) : An all-round performance in the defence as he did well with the interceptions and tackles and did a neat job at keeping the ball away from the box. He did keep the ball moving with his passing accuracy being one of the best among the lot.

Lucas Hernandez (7.1/10) : Lucas faired well with winning ground duels and winning the ball but he gave away possesion of the ball on as many as 13 occasions. Apart from that, his long balls were one that stood out.

Alphonso Davies (7/10) : Just the 45 minutes then for Davies as he had a pretty average game today. He did fantastically well with winning 6 out of 7 ground duels but he lost possession on 19 occasions.

Joshua Kimmich (9.2/10) : Joshua Kimmich was the star of the night with his brace. He scored the second goal of the match in the 27th minute. He then scored a late second half goal to complete his brace and guide Bayern to a marvelous win.

Leon Goretzka (8.5/10) : Goretzka ticked all the boxes in the midfield with his skillwork. He created two big goal scoring opportunities, one of them being an assist to Kimmich’s second goal. He had a 100% track record at winning ariel and ground duels as well. A performance to remember for Leon.

Serge Gnabry (7.8/10) : Gnabry didn’t seem to hesitant in going for glory as he had multiple occasions to get himself a goal. He had a total of 3 on target and two off target attempts off which he got himself a goal in the 32nd minute of the game, courtesy of a beautiful assist by Thomas Müller.

Thomas Müller (7.4/10) : Müller’s assist granted Bayern with their third goal of the game and Gnabry’s first of the match. Müller himself had a few attempts at goal but was off target on two occasions and the one being on target was denied by the keeper.

Leroy Sané (8/10) : Sané found himself in the goal scorers list after a magnificent finish in the back of the net to give Bayern their first goal of the match. He later assisted Kimmich’s goal to double the lead for Bayern. After a scintillating performance, he was substituted in the 62nd minute.

Robert Lewandowski (7.6/10) : Lewandowski was surprisingly quite till the second half of the game and he too added his name onto the list by scoring his first and Bayern’s fifth of the match in the 61st minute.

Substitutes

Tanguy Nianzou (6.5/10) : A decent substitution by Bayern with Tanguy. He passed the ball around smoothly while also winning a fair few balls.

Omar Richards (6.6/10) : Omar played an entire half after replacing Alphonso Davies. He did a commendable job as his dribbling skills were exceptional. He did really good with winning ground duels and possession alongwith.

Marcel Sabitzer (6.7/10) : Sabitzer created a huge opportunity for Bayern Munich and one of his key passes helped his side get the scoreline they would dream about.

Kostas Stafylidis (6.2/10) : Kostas managed to play for 58 minutes before being substituted. It was difficult to defend with Bayern attacking at every move but he had a decent game.

Vasilis Lampropoulos (5.6/10) : Vasilis had the worst game amongst all the defenders as he committed an own goal that increased Bayern’s lead by four goals inside the first half.

Armel Bella-Kotchap (5/10) : It was quite visible that Armel struggled with keeping the ball to himself and make neat passes. He had several clearances to his name but none could save them from the thrashing loss.
