Call of Duty Warzone Invitational Tournament: Brands & Future of Esports in India
The gaming scene in India is evolving at a rapid pace. Over the last few years, we have seen a growth in the number of tech companies entering esports. With Corsair Gaming and Elgato already entered the market, AMD is one of the new faces jumping in.
The Call of Duty Warzone Invitational tournament is open to all streamers. That means anyone around the globe who plays and streams Warzone can come, participate, and win prizes and exclusive hampers. This, perhaps, the only time when Activision is involving directly in the scene. Earlier, as per the reports, Krafton (PUBG) is the only company to interface directly in the tournaments.
The annoucement comes from the Esports Media partner’s social media handles where they say,
“Introducing the WD Black Cup powered by AMD! The largest Call of Duty Warzone Invitational event in the land will see the top streamers and content creators come collectively for a showdown of epic proportions!”
The list of streamers is not public yet. Speaking to IGN India, the developers at Activision open up about the evolving esports market in India. They quoted saying,
“We are grateful to have an avid and growing community of Call of Duty players in India across Black Ops Cold War and our free-to-play games, Warzone and Call of Duty Mobile. We remain committed to making our games accessible to everyone. Both Cold War and Warzone are currently available for digital download on console platform stores and via Battlenet for PC.”
