Carlos Sainz explains how Ferrari can beat McLaren in 2021 F1 battle

Will Sainz be able to take Ferrari past McLaren in 2021?

The Maranello based outfit endures their worst season in franchise history in 2020. They finished 6th in the Constructer’s Championship with 131 points. As a result, they brought in Calos Sainz to drive alongside Charles Leclerc. However with the former driver coming in, Ferrari feels they could beat McLaren.

As of the completion of two Grand Prix’s, Ferrari sits 4th in the Constructors standing where McLare is on 3rd with 53 points. The Spanish drive has not been able to find the pace of the car but thinks they will beat the Woking-based outfit this season.

What did Carlos Sainz say?

As quoted by Racer, Carlos Sainz stated, “I think it is very tight, honestly. It is very difficult to pick from. I think the McLaren has its strengths and its weaknesses, and us the same. What makes it a really nice fight is that we are quick in very different places on the track and it makes it a very fun battle.

“Maybe they have a bit of an upper hand the last two races. As soon as we do a very good weekend and we go to a track that maybe favors us a little bit, we can be ahead,” Carlos Sainz concluded.

It is without a shadow of a doubt, that the Sainz and Lando Norris friendship was one of the best we have seen in recent years. Sainz would love to form the same bromance with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari.

As quoted by Autosport, Sainz said, “I would lie if I said I’ve not talked to Charles. Of course I have. Of course I am paying attention that what happens over there, and asking him questions now and then.

“Until you get inside the team, it’s difficult to really understand and really tricky to know what is going on. My relationship with Charles actually is very good. I expect to get on well with him in the future.”
