“I would definitely like to revisit that,” says Cat Zingano on wanting a rematch against Megan Anderson

Former UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight title contender Cat Zingano has other plans than just fighting in the Bellator. The “Alpha” is now signed to Bellator but also revealed recently that she has plans of revisiting her fights against Miesha Tate and Megan Anderson. Miesha recently announced a comeback from retirement.

Miesha Tate is now a UFC fighter but Cat Zingano being signed to the Bellator would love to figure out a way to fight again with her former rival. Cat Zingano and Miesha Tate went against each other at UFC-TUF 17 finale. Though Cat won the fight by KO/TKO she wouldn’t mind running it back.

During the media day of Bellator 265, Cat Zingano mentioned about the rematches she would like. “I mean we don’t have the best blood between us,” Zingano explained. “There’s some history there that will probably never make us want to go get beers, but a couple years ago, I got asked by ONE FC to do a super fight jiu-jitsu match against her, and either I was about to have my surgery, or I just had my surgery, so I wasn’t able to do it.”

Though this rematch would just be another exhibition match and not a fight between two fighters with bad blood. Zingano also wants to fight her last opponent in the UFC promotion who stopped the fighter from getting a featherweight title shot with a controversial stoppage. Cat Zingano wants to run things back with Megan Anderson too.

Cat Zingano believes she didn’t deserve to lose the fight against Megan Anderson

Cat Zingano vs. Megan Anderson

Cat Zingano met Megan Anderson at UFC 232 in 2018. The now Bellator fighter faced defeat via TKO in the very first round. A high kick to the head caused the stoppage. But it wasn’t the impact of the actual kick but Anderson’s toe poking the eye of Cat. That matchup would’ve led to a possible featherweight title shot.

Three years later, the Bellator fighter feels they should figure out a way to fight again. “I mean she didn’t touch a hair on my head,” Zingano said about Anderson. “Literally, not one. Just a toe in my eye. They made a rule change after that saying that is officially a poke, and now, I guess there’s a five-minute time allotment, the same thing if you get a finger to the eye or something.”

“I do think that I was doing good in the beginning of that fight. I was feeling really good during that camp. It was my first fight up at 145. I got ready for it like a beast, and it was just this weird, unfortunate ending that just feels very incomplete. So yeah, I would totally like to see that. If she comes over, I would definitely like to revisit that.”
