Dean Smith's Aston Villa were able to end the ubeaten streak of Rafa Benitez's Everton at Villa park. At the end of the game, here are our Aston Villa vs Everton Player Ratings. Both teams, Aston Villa and Everton, started the game at a great tempo. After the initial exchanges, it was all about the end to end action. Both teams fired shots at each other but none of them could find the back of the net. In the first half, Asmir Begovic helped his team to keep the scoreboard 0-0. In the second half, both teams started to search the goal. However, it did not yield any result in an end to end contested game at Villa Park. In the 65th minute, Matty Cash found the top of the net after picking up a great pass from Doughlas Luiz. In the 68th minute, Leon Bailey's pin point cross caught Digne napping and it was an own goal that doubled the lead. As the game progressed, Everton were unable to withhold Villa. Bailey again caused the trouble and scored the third goal in the 74th minute. Ashley Young replaced Leon Bailey in the final ten minutes as Bailey got injured. Aston Villa vs Everton Player Ratings: Aston Villa Emiliano Martinez (6.1/10): The Argentinian shot stopper had very less to do in the first half. Though there were multiple shots, it was off the target. Matty Cash (7.5/10): The wing back had a great pass percentage and tried to create the chances from the flanks. He had a pass percentage of 67 along with a dribble to his name. He was often found in the higher part of the pitch and this helped the side to break the deadlock in the 65th minute. Eric Konsa (6.4/10): The defender did not had any major thing to do as Everton were not that threatening inside the box. He was involved in laying the ball to Danny Ings in the Everton box. Axel Tuanzebe (6.5/10): Playing as a central defender amongst the back three, the Manchester United loanee was on top of his game. Tyrone Mings (7.1/10): The skipper of Aston Villa, Mings was not only able to defend but he was also found dribbling, dealing headers etc. However, he was unable to find the back of the net. Matt Targett (6.4/10): The left-back was not heavily involved in attacks but he had to make a few crucial interceptions when Everton were building the attack. John McGinn (6/10): John McGinn, the Scottish international was able to break the play and create the chances. He even took the shots but it was off the target. He was substituted in the first half owin to injury. David Luiz (6.7/10): Not only Luiz did all the dirty work in the midfield, he also created chances by dribbling past the Everton players. He had two dribbles to his name in the first half. Jacob Ramsey (6.5/10): Ramsey came to open the scoring with the cross but failed to do so. However, he was one of the few players who had 100% pass in the first half. Danny Ings (6.6/10): Despite being a striker, Danny Ings did not hesitate to commit himself to put the tackles in. He also had a great chance to find the back of the net but the shot was far wide. Ollie Watkins (6.1/10): The star performer in the last season, Watkins was unable to find the back of the net on several occasions. He was unable to find the passes right that to lead to a goal and lost the ball multiple times. Substitutions: Nakamba (6.5/10): Came as a substitute for John McGinn the first half itself. He did the dirty work in the midfield along with providing sweet passes. Leon Bailey (8.2/10): He came as a sub to impact the result. He was the main reason behind the team's second goal at Villa Park. However, Begovic denied the great chance with his reflexes. However, everything fell apart in the second half as AVFC's strikers/attackers tore them apart. Yerry Mina (6.4/10): The Colombian was dominant in the air for Everton and he kept Aston Villa’s attackers at bay in both the halves. Ben Godfrey (6.5/10): Filling the right back spot, Godfrey held the line tight for Everton. His offensive inputs were less but was an aerial threat in the box for opposition. He received the yellow card for fouling Leon Bailey in the 71st minute. Micheal Keane (6.7/10): Micheal Keane was one of the few players who played in the game to come close to scoring the goal. Though he did not score, he was able to execute his duty in the backline. Lucas Digne (6.4/10): Ever since his return from injury, Lucas Digne has not been able to replicate the form. He was defensively sound but was unable to contribute in the attack. Abdoulaye Doucoure (7.0/10): Doucoure was not only able to put the ball forward to the attackers, but he was also involved in breaking the opposition attacks. He had three tackles and a dribble to his name. Fabin Allan (6.5/10): Allan put a great shift in the midfield with his ability to intercept and read the game. Alex Iwobi (6.3/10): The midfielder was able to initiate the counter attacks and feed the ball to the attackers. But he often kept losing possession causing the team to adjust too much. Demarai Gray (7.2/10): Gray was a live wire in the midfield and attack for Everton. He created chances, initiated counter attacks but was unable to find the back of the net. Andros Townsend (6.5/10): Townsend was a part of the front three and created a number of chances but none were converted. He took a shot from outside the box which was easily handled by the shot stopper. Solomon Rondon (6.5/10): Rondon was the target man of Rafa Benitez’s team. He won the aerial headers and had a look at goal when he slid in past the cross put in by Gray. He failed to find the back of the net. Substitutions: Andre Gomes (): He came in for under-firing Solomon Rondon at the hour mark. Alex Iwobi was moved up the pitch due to his arrival.
