Harinder Pal Sandhu is well known face of Indian Squash, ranked 177th in PSA ranking list. His highest ranked was 47, which he achieved in 2 times, April 2018 & july 2018. In fact, he started as world ranked 75 in January 2019. But due to injury layoff he missed most of 2019 season. This season he competed 4 individual events and 1 team events throughout. Out of 4 events, he was forced to (ret.) in 1st round of CCI international event, which is PSA World Tour Silver event in January. After recovering from long injury, he competed in SRFI Indian tour Chennai Leg 2019 from 13-17 October. He reached semifinal of that event . But 2nd seed compatriot Mahesh Mangaonkar defeated him 8-11, 11-6, 7-11, 11-8, 11-7 in semifinal stage. Then he competed on South Asian games 2019 in Nepal from 6-8 December 2019. He won individual silver medal for India from this event. Tayyab Aslam won GOLD medal after defeating him 8-11, 11-3, 11-8, 11-8 in Gold medal match. Then in team event of South Asian games, despite compatriot Abhay singh\u2019s brave effort, India lost against Pakistan 1-2 in Gold medal match and India settles for silver. In last event of the year, SRFI indian tour Mumbai Leg 2019, he entered this event as 4th seed. He defeated compatriot Aadit Zaveri 11-4,11-4,11-5 to reach quarterfinal. Then he scored thrilling win over 8th seed Ondrej Uherka 11-7, 9-11, 6-11, 11-6, 11-7 to reach semifinal. He reached final after defeating 2nd seed compatriot Aditya Jagtap 8-11, 15-13, 11-6, 11-9 . In the final, Sandhu outplayed 7th seed Tomotaka Endo 11-5,11-6,11-7. Now he has won SRFI indian tour Mumbai Leg 2019 and finishes 2019 season on a high. Definitely, Harinder Pal Sandhu would be the player, which Indian squash is looking for. He has quality and on coming days we can hope some good performances from him.
