Eryk Anders returns to the Octagon on the 13th of March as he is scheduled to meet Darren Stewart at the UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs. Muhammad. Anders has a record of 13-5-0 in the promotion. In his previous bout, he faced defeat against Krzystof Jotko. Eryk lost to Jotko via a unanimous decision.

As part of his training camp for the fight against Darren Stewart, Eryk had the privilege of working with UFC legend Henry Cejudo and his coach Eric Albarracin. In a recent interview with James Lynch, Anders was in praise of Cejudo for his coaching ahead of the fight.

Anders mentioned that Cejudo was a whole other person in real life with a lot of personality. In the interview, the fighter said, “Yeah man, I worked with Cejudo quite a bit. I don’t know if coaching is a thing he wants to do in the future, but man I think he’d make a great coach. He’s got the pedigree, two championships, and an Olympic medal. A championship in two weight classes. When he speaks people are going to listen. So he’s already got the platform.”

Eryk got the opportunity to train with Henry and he speaks how it changed his life. Speaking to Lynch, Eryk said, And again, what you see with his persona, Cejudo is a totally different person in real life. I hope I’m not killing his image or whatnot. But man, I was actually blown away by both him and Eric, Captain Eric, by the people they actually are versus what you see, that persona they present. They’re not the same person.”

Henry Cejudo is retired as of now and has no plans of coming back to fight. But some rumors suggest that the legend might return to fight in the featherweight division against Alex Volkanovski. If he does manage to win that, Henry will make history as a UFC fighter to win 3 belts.

Do you think Cejudo will transition his fighting career into a professional coach?
