Here are the player ratings for the UEFA Champions League fixture between Club Brugge and Manchester City

The now group leaders maintained their winning streak. Cancelo, Mahrez, Palmer, Walker all were on the score sheet. From the start Manchester City looked dangerous with Walker bursting forward from the right flank creating havoc for the Club Brugge defence. Cancelo opened the scoring with a delightful ball from Foden.

Although the Brugge side looked dangerous, they couldn’t find the final pass and PSG exploited their high defensive line with the likes of Foden and KDB. Another win would help the English champions to climb the ladder of qualification easily.

Simon Mignolet (GK) (7/10)Didn’t have much to do, passed the ball well over the City attack but couldn’t do anything with goals. He was passive in saving the shots and let in 5 goals.

Clinton Mata (7/10) Mata had a decent game but was exposed by Foden and couldn’t control the Englishman’s pace and skills.

Jack Hendry (7/10) Didn’t do much except for some blocks and interceptions here and there.Timid at the back and remained shaky and succumbed to the Man City attack.

Stanley Nsoki(7/10) Similar to Hendy , couldn’t do anything with goals. Controlled the threat of KDB effectively in the first half but dipped off in the second half. Could do better.

Eduard Sobol (7/10)Sobol had a decent game except for some silly fouls . Gave the ball a few times in dangerous areas , apart from that he was decent and distributed effectively and tried his best to contribute in the attacks.

Kamal Sowah (6.5/10)Kamal Sowah was invisible in the game and could have done better. His positioning was questionable and was poor with the ball. He was exposed by Walker and Bernardo, needs to improve.

Mats Rits (6/10)Rits was unlucky to be stuck with KDB and Bernardo in the game. He was dribbled past many times and was clumsy in possession many times. He was invisible in the game, and was subbed out in the 55th minute.

Éder Álvarez Balanta (7.5/10) The work machine of Brugge’s midfield ,controlled possession and won the ball many times in dangerous areas. He was the silver lining in the Brugge’s game. His physicality was a problem for Man City. Got booked with a foul on Grealish.

Noa Lang(7.5/10)Was comparatively quiet in the first half of the game but showed his class in the second half with a beautiful through ball to Mbappe and grabbed an assist .

De Ketelaere (8/10) Ketelaere was probably the best player for Brugge with his sumptuous performance. He was putting in the shift and was making dangerous runs to make spaces.His energy was terrific.

H Vanaken(8/10)Was decent, kept possession well and distributed effectively with poise. He pulled one goal back in the 81 st move after finishing off a brilliant move.

Noah Mbamba (7/10)Thilo replaced Hakimi and distributed the ball well. Made a few promising runs on the flank and looked dangerous.

Ignance Van Der Brempt (7/10) Made some positive runs and passed well and was a constant threat to the City players. Had a decent time in the middle.

Ruud Vormer (6.5/10)Vormer was decent with the possession but was weak on the ball and was loose. He could have done better with positioning.

Manchester City are on prowl

Ederson (GK) (7.5/10)Couldn’t do much with the goal he conceded. But made some timely saves and passed the ball well.

Kyle Walker (8.5/10)Walker was solid right from the start and was neutralising every Brugge attack . He was brave with the ball and scored a brilliant goal after receiving a ball from KDB.

Ruben Dias (7.5/10)Dias was solid at the back. He was a brick at the back and was even assisting in the attacks. He did his defensive duties with aplomb.

Aymeric Laporte(7.5/10) Laporte didn’t allow Brugge players to pass. He was calm, composed and distributed the ball really well. His brave runs were effective.

Joao Cancelo(8.510) The Portuguese wizard was the best player for Man City, he impressed everyone with his delightful skills and scored a wonderful goal. Could have been better with the defensive duties.

Bernardo Silva (8/10) Silva was one of the best players for Man City . He was a constant menace in the middle giving a torrid time to Balanta and creating chances. On another day we would have scored a goal.

Rodri(7.5/10) Apart from a few selective moments he was running the midfield for City . He attempted a few line breaking passes which were dangerous but had a quiet game overall.

Kevin De Bruyne(7.5/10) He rotated the ball well and kept constant pressure on the Brugge back line. Was poor in the first half but stepped up in the second.

Jack Grealish(7.5/10) Grealish was looking threatening in some moments and was a constant presence in the Brugge defensive half. His skills were a delight to watch.

Phil Foden ( 8/10)Foden had a great performance. Fodenl had few chances but poor first touch and wasteful finishing let him down. Otherwise he was delight to watch and provided a great assist to Cancelo.

Riyad Mahrez (9/10) Mahrez was also superb in the game. He scored two great goals ,one penalty. His skills were exquisite and a delight to watch.Substitutions: Raheem Sterling (7.5/10) He didn’t have much time to make an impact but showed in a few moments why he should be picked for the next game although was wasteful some times.

Substitutes

Fernandinho(7/10) The number 25 had a decent 20 mins where he passed smoothly and neutralised some attacks.

Cole Palmer(8/10)Palmer got some minutes under his belt and showed his manager why he should start. Was lively and was looking to find spaces and create chances and scored a great goal.

Nathan Ake(7/10)Ake replaced Laporte and was solid with even creating chances with corners.

Ilkay Gundogan(7.5/10)A comeback for the German who was sidelined with injury. Created a lot of chances and was lively.
