Changes in UFC rankings; Francis Ngannou grabs No.1 spot at heavyweight division

With UFC 252 complete now, the rankings of fighters have witnesses some significant changes. The results of the event made some fighters drop down and drop up in the rankings. As Stipe Miocic retained his UFC heavyweight title by defeating the retiring Daniel Cormier. Although DC retired, this loss cost him the drop in heavyweight as well as P4P rankings
On the other hand, Sean O’Malley lost to Marlon Vera majorly because of his injuries. Mareb Dvalishvili shut down Jon Dodson to move up at 135 pounds.
Significant changes in UFC rankings
Men’s P4P – With DC losing, he slipped one spot down to seven as a result Alexander Volkanovski rose to sixth spot. Further, Justin Gaethje and Max Halloway flip-flopped spots with each other for tenth and eighth spot.
Heavyweight – With DC retired and lost to Miocic, Francis Ngannou becomes the top contender in heavyweight division. DC has slipped down to three from two. Jairzinho Rozenstruik has risen two spots to four after he stopped Junior dos Santos. Alistair Overeem sees a one spot rise to six while JDS has dropped from two to seven.
Sergei Pavlovich and Cyril Gane have moved up one spot each to 13 and 14. Besides that, the former champion Fabricio Werdum has been removed from the rankings, likely due to his free agent status and statements about not re-signing with the UFC.
Light Heavyweight – No changes.
Middleweight – Middleweight fighter Marvin Vettori has dropped from 14 to 15.
Welterweight – No changes.
Lightweight – No changes.
Featherweight – With Dan Ige’s match going tie with Sodiq Yusuff, he has moved up to 11th spot.
Bantamweight – Dominick Cruz has seen a one spot rise and has moved up to ten. Rob Font is on the nine. Dvalishvili is up to third spot now. Marlon Vera has made his debut in the rankings and is at 14. He has thrown O’Malley out.
Flyweight – No changes.
Women’s P4P – No changes.
Women’s Bantamweight – No changes.
Women’s Flyweight – No changes.
Women’s Strawweight – Virna Jandiroba has entered the rankings table at 15 after defeating Felice Herrig.
