Goals from Mason Mount and Oliver Giroud just before half time helped secure a berth in Champions League next season. Frank Lampard has done brilliantly despite not singing any in the previous year. Despite a slow start to their game against Wolves, Chelsea were able to  take the lead through Mason Mount’s brilliantly placed free kick in the 45th minute. Giroud doubled Chelsea’s lead with a dazzling finish. This was Giroud’s 7th goal since the restart of the campaign.

Chelsea had 3 shots on target and enjoyed 63% possession per 90. Despite Adama Troare’s scintillating form he was not able to make the difference for Wolves either. Despite a brilliant performances throughout the season, Wolves were unable to guarantee themselves Europa league action for the next campaign. However, Wolves can still qualify if Chelsea manage to beat Arsenal in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Chelsea have a second leg champions League fixture against Bayern Munich. Although the Blues’ are down by three goals to nil against Bayern, they will try to pull a old fashioned comeback against the Bavarians.

Frank Lampard seem to be building a squad strong enough squad to produce some major results next campaign. Due to very little spending because last season’s transfer ban Chelsea are expected to take the transfer market by a storm. Despite already signing Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyach. Rumors of Chelsea signing Kai havertz and also a potential defensive player is probability.
