CFSL joins with FIDE to Celebrate International Chess Day


Chess Federation of Sri Lanka used their twitter handle to join hands with the International Chess Federation on the occasion of International Chess Day.

The venture would teach people how to play chess as well as would be a place to share one’s chess experience or journey.

A game of strategy, shear focus and wits, Chess is the thinking man’s game. This game was invented in India in the 5th century.

On 20th July 1924 at the 8th Summer Olympic Games in Paris, the FIDE (International Chess Federation) was found. Gradually in 1966, on the same day as the founding of the FIDE, International Chess Day was proclaimed.
