Chilwell signs for Chelsea in a £50m deal

Chelsea has made their third signing of the season with Chilwell.

The Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell has now signed for the blues. Chilwell has committed for the next 5 years. The left-back has signed the deal for a whopping £50m. The defender was happy with his association with Chelsea and said: “I am delighted to be joining Chelsea at this very exciting time for the club“.

Gearing up for the next season, Chilwell was vocal about his selection in Chelsea and expressed his views quoting, “I’m looking forward to being a part of this young, dynamic squad led by Frank Lampard as we challenge for honours next season.” He was a key man for Leicester City being part of the Premier League-winning outfit in 2016 with his 123 appearances. This indeed is a big transfer for the blues and will prove to be beneficial for the Premier League club.

The selectors and Chelsea management were confident about Chilwell’s signing and said: “We are confident Ben will adapt very quickly to being a Chelsea player. With the fixture programme for 2020/21 especially busy, he is a fantastic addition to the squad needed to challenge for honours.

Ben Chilwell is the third signing for the blues this season. After the signing of lead striker Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, he is the third signing for the upcoming season. Chelsea is now looking to build a championship-winning squad and will look to regain their previous form. The future signings are expected to commence this week. Focus will be on Kai Havertz and 21-year old Malang Sarr.

Bringing back glory to Chelsea

The Blues have already bid goodbye to big players like Pedro and Willian. Chelsea is now also aiming at the 35-year old Thiago Silva. Silva has departed from PSG after their loss against Bayern in the UCL final.

The Blues will be looking to hit the turf with their best lineup and attain the Premier League trophy.
