China Cancels International Sports Events, administration doesn’t want to invite any foreign coronavirus case


Although China has been successful in containing the Coronavirus cases in the country, the administration is still skeptic. The government of China doesn’t want to take any risk yet. In the same context, the General Administration of Sports (GAS) has cancelled several events that were to take place in the country.

The GAS has issued an order which affects six World Tennis Association (WTA) tennis events. The event also includes the major WTA finals. The administration said that the country won’t be staging any international sports event for the rest of 2020. However, trials for the 2020 Winter Olympics will be held in Beijing and Zhangjiakou.

The WTA Finals was supposed to take place in Shenzhen in November. Besides, China still has four ATP tournaments lined up. The administration doesn’t want to invite any foreign coronavirus case in the country as it has been able to contain the Virus in the country on a very large scale.

The GAS cited the reason of science and order behind its plan of cancellation of sports events.
