The weekend is fast approaching and there is a lot to look forward to at the Cincinnati Open 2020. World No.1 and No.1 seed Novak Djokovic will lock horns with a determined Roberto Bautista Agut to book a slot in the summit clash at the ATP Masters 1000 event.

Talking about the journey of the two players in the tournament so far, Djokovic reached the quarterfinals without a fuss. The match in the quarters was no different, as the 33-year old Serb thrashed Jan-Lennard Struff in straight sets 6-3, 6-1. The 17-time Grand Slam champion is seeking his maiden title at the Western and Southern Open.

On the other hand, Bautista Agut had to dig in really deep in every match to reach the last-eight. In the quarterfinals too, the 32-year old Spaniard showed grit to defeat the defending champion Daniil Medvedev 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 in a grueling three-setter. The World No.12 has shown tremendous fighting skills in each of his matches at the event.

The two veterans on the ATP Tour circuit have faced each other eleven times. Djokovic has claimed 8 victories while losing thrice to Bautista Agut. However, the head-to-head record does not justify the fight the Spaniard gives to the Serb in every single match. Bautista Agut, in 2019 alone, has emerged victorious twice while losing only one time against Djokovic. Their last meeting, though, was won by the three-time US Open champion. It was in the semis of the Wimbledon where Bautista Agut lost to Djokovic in four sets 2-6, 6-4, 3-6, 2-6, but not before showing his talent in tennis.

The match will be an evenly contested affair and Djokovic will need to bring out every skill he possesses in order to emerge victorious. Nevertheless, the match will surely keep the tennis fans to the edge of their seats!
