Ahead of his fight with Dustin Poirier a multimillion-dollar lawsuit has been filed against the UFC superstar Conor McGregor by a woman from his home country Ireland.

The personal injury lawsuit was filed on Monday over the events that allegedly took place in 2008. Dave Coleman of Coleman Legal Partners is representing the women and they are the ones that confirmed the news to MMA Fighting in a phone call on Tuesday. The woman’s mother also claimed a similar claim against McGregor.

They didn’t disclose the woman and her mother’s identity and also the details of the lawsuit are also not public due to strict laws in Ireland.

Coleman told MMA fighting “We can’t really comment on the substantive issues. Suffice to say, I do represent those ladies, we have issued these proceedings before the court, and we’re satisfied that our case is well-founded before the court.”

Conor McGregor’s team replied to the news of the lawsuit

Conor is currently in Abu Dhabi and is preparing for his fight against Dustin Poirier. After the news of lawsuit came into light his team issued the following statement.

“After an exhaustive investigation conducted by the Gardaí which, in addition to interviews of the plaintiff, included interviewing numerous sources, obtaining witnesses’ statements, examining closed circuit footage and the cooperation of Conor McGregor, these allegations were categorically rejected.”

“The plaintiff knows the facts contradict the assertions in this lawsuit. Mr. McGregor will dispute any claims and is confident that justice will prevail.”

The truth will come out sooner or later, but McGregor have been involved in similar lawsuit before. He was accused of sexual assaults and punching an old man in the bar. He also attacked Khabib’s bus and faced several charges for the same.
